Reggie hates on Disaster: Day of Crisis

Recently, Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime talked fairly candidly about the issues present in Wii title, Disaster: Day of Crisis. Reggie called the voice acting “laughable” and then essentially told the IGN interviewer that he doesn’t believe Disaster is worth a $50 price tag. Currently, the game is only available in Europe and Japan and is missing on NA release lists.

In addition to that, Reggie said he would monitor the game in Europe and if it sells well, he would bring it to North American audiences. Considering Reggie’s fairly candid sentiments, I’m not exactly sure if we want the title to make the jump over the pond.

Reggie’s comments are fairly odd, considering the amazing amount of garbage present for the Wii on store shelves. Instead of knocking a game that has 3D graphics and voice, perhaps he should knock on titles that only consist of mini-games or frantic waggle movements. It would be nice to have the bar raised.

Disaster: Day of Crisis New Images, Factsheet So Far

Phahtrox: I feel that I'm the only one who want's this game.

Fact sheet so far...
1. You play as Raymond Bryce, a former US marine.
2. You fight an organization called SURGE.
3. The controls are quite different than most games, with good use of quick time events, clever game controls, minigames, and being a rail shooter.
4. layers will also have to keep an eye on meters for Ray's stamina, heart and lungs, which can be depleted by strenuous activity and exposure to smoke and poisonous fumes, and replenished by eating food or taking in deep breaths of clean air respectively.
5. During the game players will be able to improve Ray's skills including his strength, accuracy with firearms and mental concentration by collecting "Survival Points" earned by rescuing civilians, while "Battle Points" earned from killing SURGE members can be used to purchase and upgrade Ray's weapons and equipment.
------
Bad news for us AMERICANS: Disaster will not come out in the US unless it sells well in Europe.

Comes out in Europe today.
