Deadly Creatures Random Info Jargon

From GoNintendo.com

UGO: How do you feel about where Wii games are going? Do you sense the console has a direction?

Jordan Itkowitz: I think it’s completely random and chaotic. People have been saying they want something new; they want something different, so I hope we’re going to fill that spot for some of the gamers. I hope that the casual audience’s interest is going to be piqued. We didn’t design this necessarily to be a barrier for entry for people that haven’t played this type of game before. There’s a nice ramp up at the beginning. It’s just weird to see what sells. Are people buying the Wii and only playing Wii Sports and maybe Wii Fit and Carnival Games. Who knows? When Deadly Creatures hits in February, assuming it does well, I think that will be one of the first steps forward for third parties. I don’t think there have been that many success stories. I mean, Boom Blox I think is a great game, and that’s done well. All the party game stuff, looking at the Rayman series, is doing well. But everything else… Resident Evil 4‘s a top seller, but that’s a port.

UGO: Was Deadly Creatures pitched as a franchise?

Jordan Itkowitz: Yeah, absolutely. The response online so far has been good. And the previews have been good. So I hope that if its successful enough we get to do another one, because we could do more with the tarantula and the scorpion-not in the desert, maybe another setting.

Phahtrox: Ummmm... Deadly Creatures is a good start mainly because it doesn't suck, I hope it becomed a good and long series.
